Most studios feel like a submarine; Songbird Studios feels like a sanctuary. Located in Andheri West, we’ve created a space that prioritizes both the ear and the eye. Our studio is built on the philosophy that if you feel comfortable, you’ll sound better. It’s a mix of great hardware, soulful acoustics, and—praise be—windows that actually let the sun in.
We specialize in everything from original scores and sound design to the precision of dubbing and mastering. Between takes, you can sprawl out in our lounge or take a five-minute stroll to some of the best restaurants and pubs in the city. It’s a boutique experience for those who want their recording process to be as enjoyable as the final track. Come for the high-end microphones, stay because you’ve found a comfortable chair and a decent espresso.

We’ve got the “Holy Grail” microphones and the kind of outboard gear that makes engineers weep with joy

Microphones

(Or): Things You Shouldn’t Knock Over) We’ve curated a collection that captures everything from the subtle intake of a singer’s breath to the aggressive thwack of a kick drum.
The Icons: 2x Neumann U87. The industry standard for a reason. If you sound bad through these, we need to have a very honest conversation.
The Showstopper: Manley Labs Reference. It looks like a piece of vintage laboratory equipment and makes vocals sound like liquid gold.
The Austrian Contingent: An AKG Gold C414 and a pair of C414 Silvers. For when you want that classic transparency and a bit of “shimmer” on your tracks.
The Workhorses: Shure SM81s (Matched Pair) for the delicate bits, and the indestructible SM57s and 58s for when things get loud.
The Low End: AKG D112. Because your kick drum deserves to be heard in the next zip code.

The Hardware

(Analog Warmth for a Digital World) We believe in real knobs, glowing vacuum tubes, and the kind of circuitry that adds “mojo” to your sound.
Avalon VT-737sp: A vacuum tube channel strip that provides more warmth than a thick woollen jumper in a Mumbai summer.
Vertigo Sound VSP-2 (1976): Boutique German engineering. It’s precise, it’s punchy, and it’s arguably more reliable than most cars.
SSL X-Logic Alpha VHD: Four channels of that classic Solid State Logic grit for when you need your sound to have some “attitude.”
The Focusrite Red Duo: The Red 2 Dual EQ and Red 3 Dual VCA Compressor. These are legendary, bright red, and make everything sound like a finished record.
The Brains: Avid HDX. Zero latency, total reliability. It does the heavy lifting so we can focus on the art.
The Truth: Genelec 5.1 Monitoring. High-fidelity sound in three dimensions. We hear everything—even the stuff you’d rather we didn’t.

The Software

(The Digital Darkroom) For when we need to polish, tweak, or occasionally perform minor miracles.
DAWs: ProTools Ultimate (for the film pros) and Logic Pro X (for the creative sparks).
The Toolkit: A full SSL Suite, Slate Digital’s analog emulations, and Antares—the “correctional facility” for your vocals (used with absolute discretion, of course).
